They told the Express: “Markle has now effectively abandoned the Royal Family that embraced her. Frankly, she will be fair game in the President’s eyes.

“If she criticises him openly, you’d better get ready, because he will respond in kind.”

Meghan and Mr Trump have a history of clashes with the US actress slamming him as a “misogynistic” and “divisive” during his 2016 presidential campaign.

While the President hit back that she was “nasty”.

While earlier this month Mr Trump hurled criticism at Harry and Meghan by saying the Queen didn’t deserve the upset caused by their decision.

He added: “I just have such respect for the Queen, I don’t think this should be happening to her.”

MEGXIT DEAL

The palace last night confirmed details of the so-called “Megxit” deal – with Prince Harry losing his military titles and appointments.

The deal also means the couple will no longer use their HRH titles and will repay the £2.4million of taxpayer’s money they spent renovating Frogmore Cottage.

It was also confirmed the pair will get no more public cash as Buckingham Palace revealed the details of Megxit tonight – but it didn’t directly address the issue of who will pay for their security.

This new arrangement is expected to be rolled out this spring, meaning they will be carrying out royal engagements and Meghan will be returning to the UK until that time.

However, they still referred to themselves as “their Royal Highnesses” on their website which was updated minutes after the Queen’s announcement on their future.

It is understood that in return for dropping the use of the HRH titles, there will be no oversight on how the couple earn money, meaning they can make whatever commercial deals they want.

It is understood Prince Charles will continue to privately fund for the upkeep of their home, but it is not clear if it will be through his Duchy of Cornwall coffers.

Last year, Prince Harry and Prince William shared about £5million, and £2.3million of that went to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
