Carol says the treatment’s success is a ‘Christmas miracle’[/caption]

Little Luna, now eight months, was born with the condition congenital melanocytic nevus which had covered her face with a dark blemish since birth.

The pair have been enjoying lots of cuddles since the incredible pain-free treatment and say that it’s a “Christmas miracle.”

New heartwarming photos show Carol and Luna snuggled up as the tot’s skin begins to heal.

Earlier this week, Carol watched on in amazement as Dr Pavel Popov removed Luna’s bandages.

Results of the treatment revealed minimal scarring and the skin beneath blemish-free and healing even better than expected.

Speaking to Mail Online, Carol sad: “This is the best possible Christmas present for our family – and it has come early thanks to Dr Popov.

“It makes us feel the miracle of Christmas.”

Over the next year and a half Luna will undergo the eight pain-free procedures in an attempt to remove the rest of the birthmark from her little face entirely.

Mum and daughter are now readying to fly back to the US for the festive season.

The amazing news comes after Carol battled with whether to take the little one so far away for the treatment.

Vile trolls told her she was “crazy,” with one especially cruel woman branding Luna a “monster.”

But now the agonising decision has proved to be a great one, with Luna healthy, happy and blazing through the healing process.

Removing Luna’s bandages earlier in the week, Dr Popov says: “We thought that healing would take a bit longer.

“We are now ready to let Carol go home a month ahead of schedule.

“We expected to have good results, but what we’ve seen exceeds expectations…Her skin will heal naturally.”
